PBA's return to the national tournament comes in head coach Jeff Hueber's second season at the helm. This is his first time making the NCAA tournament in his coaching career. He's helped lead the Sailfish to an unprecedented turnaround, resulting in the team's most wins since 2018 (22). The Sailfish finished third in the Sunshine State Conference with a 12-8 overall record.
"I am so proud of this group for their commitment to each other, our staff and daily growth and grateful that our people have been rewarded in their commitment," PBA head coach
Jeff Huebner said. "Our program set very specific attainable goals to be able to make the national tournament last spring and we have been able to achieve those in a way that should encourage anyone to dream big and work small."
PBA earned its spot in the regional field following a season of steady improvement, highlighted by standout performances from across the roster. Senior setter
Grace Reynolds, recently named SSC Setter of the Year, anchored one of the league's most balanced offenses, averaging more than 10 assists per set and providing leadership throughout conference play. Junior outside hitter
Kaley Board led the 'Fish attack in kills, while senior middle hitter
Harper Stokes provided a dependable presence at the net.
As we move into the tournament, we are going to continue to make progress, get better and trust each other to hold the standard and invest in the program. We have been faithful and committed in a way that makes me proud to represent Palm Beach Atlantic University.
SSC schools Tampa, Barry, and Lynn rounded out the top three. UWF earned the No. 4 seed. The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Eckerd, and SIAC champions Spring Hill make up the rest of the field. PBA's season is highlighted a season sweep over No. 2-seed Barry.
