WINTER PARK, Fla.- With a high seed in the upcoming NCAA Regional tournament already a near certainty the No. 19-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team still had plenty to play for on Sunday afternoon as they made their way to Winter Park to take on Rollins College. A long win streak was extended to 20 matches in a row for the Sailfish while PBA was able to avenge one of their three losses earlier in the season by defeating the Tars by a score of 3-1.

The Sailfish finished regular season play on Sunday with a 29-3 record in hand while being ranked No. 2 in the most recent NCAA regional rankings. The ‘Fish will now wait for the NCAA Division II selection show via NCAA.com to determine their postseason future which is set to air on Monday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 pm.

Playing a rare Sunday match after an eight-day layoff from game activity, the ‘Fish appeared to have little to no rust to shake off as they would go on to defeat the Tars by the scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-16 and 26-24.

The Sailfish defense was once again a focal point as they limited the Tars attack to a .120 team hitting percentage in the four-set match while PBA was able to muster a .205 team hitting percentage.

Senior right-side hitter Christina Alessi led the way once again for Palm Beach Atlantic as she knocked down a team-best 19 kills with just four hitting errors on 34 attacks for an outstanding .441 hitting percentage.

She was backed also by solid hitting performances from sophomores Faith Rohn (15 kills) and Elly Raush (11 kills) who helped carry the load.

Setting the PBA attackers was once again junior Becca Acevedo who produced 50 assists in the victory while adding in eight digs.

Melissa Buckingham and Rachael Holehouse were both very active on the back row with Buckingham leading all players with 22 digs while Holehouse was right behind with 20 defensive helpers.

Rohn finished with yet another double-double in the win as she added in 16 digs to go with her 15 kills.

The Tars were paced by a match-high 20 kills from Collyn Welsch (.228 hitting percentage) while middle-blocker Camille Indest chipped in 11 kills (.083 hitting percentage).
