BOCA RATON, Fla.- It is a safe assumption that the Lynn University volleyball program will be fine with not seeing Sailfish sophomore Faith Rohn again this season. Rohn put down 24 kills in four sets on Saturday afternoon in the de Hoernle Center after dominating the Knights for 20 kills in their earlier season matchup as PBA brushed off a first-set loss to defeat LU 3-1 for the season series sweep.

In her second-season with Palm Beach Atlantic and emerging as one of the most feared hitters in the Region, Rohn led a solid PBA team effort on Saturday as they won for the second time in as many days while pushing their season-best win streak to 13 matches.

Now 23-3 on the season, the Sailfish backed up Friday night’s 3-0 home win versus Flagler College with a solid final three sets on Saturday as they earned the 3-1 win by the scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-15 and 25-22.

PBA finished with another solid team hitting performance as they connected for a .250 mark while the Fighting Knights (16-10) concluded the match at a .219 hitting clip.

With last night’s match versus Flagler not ending until nearly 10 pm the Sailfish were forced to have a quick turnaround for their matinee on Saturday at LU. After a .196 hitting performance in the opening set loss the Sailfish rattled off their final two sets with hitting marks over the .300 plateau to close out the upset-minded Fighting Knights.

Following Rohn’s double-double performance of 24 kills and 15 digs was senior Christina Alessi who connected for 15 kills on 33 swings (.303 attacking percentage) while Stephany Brown and Elly Raush added in solid performances with nine and eight kills respectively.

Becca Acevedo continues to see her assists per set rise to national prominence as she added 52 more assists in the win while chipping in 10 digs and a pair of kills.

Melissa Buckingham paced the PBA defensive efforts with 20 digs while Rachael Holehouse produced 14 digs in the win.  Brown topped the team’s blocks mark with four while Raush added in three block assists.

Lynn was led by a 17-kill performance from Liga Strautniece while Angie Caple added in nine kills. Marissa Tandron contributed 45 assists while Nikki Haben led all players with 25 digs.

The Sailfish will put their winning streak on the line next versus Florida Tech on Tuesday, Oct. 29th when the Panthers come to the Rubin Arena looking to avenge their 3-2 loss versus PBA earlier this season.
