Box Score LAKELAND, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic University volleyball team hit the road on Saturday afternoon for their second match in 24 hours as they hoped to rebound from a tough home loss on Friday against the likes of Lynn University. The Lady Sailfish did just that as they swept Southeastern University with three dominating sets to improve to 6-8 on the season.
Palm Beach Atlantic earned the 3-0 victory by posting scores of 25-16, 25-9, and 25-20 while seeing nearly the full extent of the roster gain valuable court time.
PBA was led by the likes of junior Liz Fugate who connected for 10 kills and just two hitting errors while posting a solid .348 attacking percentage. Fellow middle-blocker Janeen McCormick also performed well as she put together seven kills and only one hitting error for a .316 attack percentage while also posting a foursome of blocks (two solo, two block assists.).
Jennifer Eldridge added in five kills and ten digs while Kristin Carroll and freshman Betsy Bull each chipped in three kills.
Sophomore Jessica Way totaled 25 assists in the match while adding in seven digs and a team-high three block assists.
Casey Jensen paced the Fire attack with seven kills however she also netted seven hitting errors. Tara McCherley added in a double-double effort with 10 assists and 10 digs for SU.
PBA returns to West Palm Beach for their next match as they will travel across town to take on Northwood University on Tuesday, October 6th at 7 p.m. The Fish will then prepare for a busy weekend as they will travel to Bristol, Tennessee to participate in the King College Tournament on Friday and Saturday, October 9th-10th.
