WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer team is gearing up for an eventful 2026 season, announcing a competitive slate featuring 16 matches – including eight home stands for fans to come and support the 'Fish.
Head Coach Lucas Martorna had this to say about this upcoming season.
"This year's schedule is no exception to the demanding nature of SSC and regional competition, entering the Fall 2026 season, we know many of our opponents well and understand the level of commitment required to compete successfully. Every opponent deserves our utmost respect, preparation, and execution."
Following three preseason scrimmages, the Sailfish open their regular season at home against the reigning SAC Champions Lincoln Memorial on August 27, followed with a match against Carson-Newman on August 29. The 'Fish will start their stretch on the road as they travel to Georgia on September 2 to face off against Young Harris and North Georgia before ending their trip in Virginia to take on Emory & Henry.
Sunshine State Conference play kicks off on September 16 as the Sailfish host Barry. The conference schedule promises plenty of action, with PBA facing all ten SSC opponents this fall. Fans can catch home matchups against Nova Southeastern, Tampa, Eckerd, and Embry-Riddle, while the team's road matches include Rollins, Saint Leo, Florida Tech, and Lynn. The Sailfish will step out of conference play briefly to host Florida Memorial on September 23 for Senior Night.
"While our staff, returning players, and new additions are excited for the opportunity to defend our SSC championship, our focus remains unchanged: prepare for one match at a time and compete one game at a time," adds Martorna.
The Sailfish had a very strong showing last season as the team won the SSC Regular Season Championship, their first since being co-champions in 2021. The team made it to the SSC Conference Tournament where they ultimately fell to Rollins 2-1 in the second round. However, their performance on the year was so strong that they were ranked first in the region for the NCAA tournament, marking the teams first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2021.
The 'Fish look to pick up exactly where they left off when August rolls around.
