Preston Le Gassick earned a pair of awards from D2CCA and the NABC.
Le Gassick was named first team all-region by the D2CCA and first team all-district from the NABC for his performance this season. He led the Sailfish in scoring and playmaking this season, averaging 18.8 points and 4.6 assists per game. He set a new DII-era record for points in a season, scoring 600 points.
The Australia native is the first all-region and all-district honoree in the program's DII-era. He finished fifth in the SSC in points per game, tying for the league lead with 2.9 3-pointers made per game on a 38 percent clip. He posted the second-best assist/turnover ratio in the league (2.4). He scored double-digits in 29 of PBA's 32 games. He scored a season-high 33 points against Puerto-Rico Mayaguez on Nov. 25.
Le Gassick helped lead the Sailfish to its best season since joining Division II. PBA posted a 26-6 record, its best record since the 2004-05 season. The Sailfish finished second in the conference, and earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA South Region, playing in its first NCAA tournament game.
