ORLANDO, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team lost to Northwood on Monday in a neutral site match in Orlando, Fla., with a final score of 6-1. The 'Fish secured their sole point with a victory in the No. 5 singles match.
In doubles play, the duo of
Alejandro Rol Franco and
Milan Visontai put up a fight at No. 1 doubles but fell short in a tiebreak, 7-6(4).
Saidakbar Kamalov and
Marko Visontai faced a challenging match at No. 3 doubles, ending in a 6-2 defeat. At No. 2 doubles,
Noah Muyale and
Matthew Young battled hard but were edged out 7-6(5).
During singles competition,
Saidakbar Kamalov stood out by delivering a comeback win at No. 5 singles, overcoming his opponent 1-6, 6-0, 1-0(10-3).
Marko Visontai played at No. 4 singles and faced a tough straight-set defeat, 6-2, 6-1.
Matthew Young competed at No. 3 singles, finishing with a 6-1, 6-4 loss.
Lucas Hoyos challenged his opponent at No. 2 singles but was narrowly defeated, 6-4, 7-5.
Milan Visontai battled in a three-set match at No. 1 singles, ultimately falling 6-4, 6-7(7), 1-0(10-6).
The Sailfish return to the courts on Wednesday at 11 a.m. when they take on Mississippi College.
