Baseball Earns Series Split with Yellow Jackets

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team edged out a tight 3-2 win over American International on Sunday at J.M. Jake Rubin Park and earned a series split. The 'Fish utilized strong outings from Elijah Budiac and Jack Mischke, allowing just six hits and striking out nine batters over the course of nine innings.

American International jumped ahead in the first inning with a two-run homer from Leandro Guevara. The Sailfish cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the inning when Finley Holmes crossed the plate on a wild pitch. Steven Serna knocked in Kody Kelly with a single to left field to tie the game at two. In the fifth inning, Ian Pennington flew a ball out to right field deep enough to earn a sac fly for Jake McNamara to cross the plate.

Defensively, the 'Fish stayed strong with clean innings and a crucial pickoff by the Giancarlo Chantres, kept the Yellow Jackets at bay.
