MIRAMAR, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track team competed at the NSU Alumni Invitational on Friday.
PBA's day was highlighted by a win in the 3000m steeplechase.
Michael Kirwan took home first place in the event with a time of 10:38.43. He finished in front of runners from conference foes Barry and Lynn.
The first event of the day for the Sailfish was the 1500m race.
Hans Payne and Jamin DeWitt finished in the top three. Payne finished second with a time of 4:07.93, good for the 10
th best time in program history. DeWitt followed in third running a 4:11.94.
Zach Avalos placed 12
th in the event, running a 4:23.55.
Jack Colvin earned 17
th with a time of 4:36.29.
Carlos Santiago,
Christian Ayers, and AJ Duda represented the Sailfish in the 800m. Santiago was PBA's best finisher, placing 12
th running 2:03.18. Ayers finished 19
th with a time of 2:07.15. Duda earned 21
st, with a mark of 2:15.25.
Aedon Lydon,
Alain Flores,
Max Buonomo, and
Chris Cotilla competed in the 5000m. Lydon and Flores were neck and neck, running 15:37. Buonomo finished with a time of 16:38 while Cotilla posted a 16:43 time.
PBA competes again on March 13 when it travels to Tampa for the Tampa Spartans Classic.
