WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team lost to Rollins 6-1 on Friday at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center. The 'Fish secured their lone point with a hard-fought victory at No. 2 singles.
In doubles competition, Palm Beach Atlantic struggled as Rollins swept all three courts.
Lucas Hoyos and
Noah Muyale took to the court at No. 2 doubles but fell 6-3.
Kylian Coiteux and
Matthew Young faced a similar outcome at No. 3 doubles, also losing 6-3. At No. 1 doubles,
Alejandro Rol Franco and
Milan Visontai were edged out with a 6-4 defeat.
The singles matches saw a continued challenge for PBA.
Saidakbar Kamalov competed at No. 5 singles but was defeated 6-1, 6-1. At No. 6 singles,
Niki Dusterer fell with the same scoreline.
Marko Visontai faced a tough match at No. 3 singles, finishing with a 6-1, 6-1 loss.
Milan Visontai played at No. 1 singles, concluding with a 6-0, 6-3 defeat.
Bernardo Moutinho contended at No. 4 singles, ending with a 6-1, 6-0 loss.
The highlight for the 'Fish came from
Alejandro Rol Franco, who delivered an impressive performance at No. 2 singles. He battled through to win in a third-set tiebreak, securing a 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) victory, marking a proud moment for the Sailfish men's tennis team.Â
The Sailfish return to the court on Mar. 8 when they take on Jefferson at 1 p.m. at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.Â
