DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track team competed in the first-ever Sunshine State Conference Track Championships on Saturday.
The Sailfish started early in the morning with the 10000m race.
Hayden Tank scored for the Sailfish, finishing eighth with a time of 32:02.02.
Jackson Overholt also competed in the race. He finished 15th with a time of 33:36.90.
Jared Brown represented PBA in the 100m race. He broke the school record, earning 19th with a mark of 11.24. Brown broke another school record later in the day. He also finished 19th in the 200m race with a time of 22.77.
Michael Kirwan broke a school record of his own in the 3000m steeplechase. He placed 11th in the event, running a time of 10:14.15.
Joe Basara led the way for the Sailfish in the 1500m race. He finished 13th with a time of 4:00.83.
Reece Slater finished two-tenths of a second behind Basara, taking 15th with a time of 4:01.10.
Ethan Wattles set a new person record in 17th with a mark of 4:03.72.
Hans Payne earned 21st with a time of 4:11.22.
Connor Wallace broke his own school record in the 400m race. He finished the event in 17th with a time of 51.69.
Carlos Santiago and Wattles each set new personal records in the 800m race. Santiago placed 19th with a mark of 1:58.07. Wattles was not far behind, placing 21st with a time of 1:58.52.
The Sailfish complete their season on May 2-3 at the North Florida East Coach Relays.
