WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's basketball head coach
Manisha Redus has announced she is stepping down from her position to pursue another coaching opportunity, effective immediately.
"I couldn't be more thankful for my time at PBA," Redus said. "There are so many relationships built that I will cherish for life. I want to most especially thank
Courtney Lovely Evans for entrusting me with this opportunity seven years ago; I've always felt supported and valued under her leadership. My players have impacted my life immeasurably; I can't thank them enough for challenging me and making me a better person and coach each year. My intention has always been to leave here better than I found it and I wish this program and university nothing but the best moving forward."
Redus leaves the program as the winningest coach in program history. After inheriting a four-win team in 2018, Redus has built the program up, including back-to-back appearances in the Sunshine State Conference tournament. In the 2023-24 season, Redus led the Sailfish to their first winning season since 2003-04.
"I want to thank Manisha for her service and dedication to our women's basketball program and PBA during her tenure," PBA Director of Athletics
Courtney Lovely Evans said. "She made a tremendous impact on our team and department, and she will truly be missed. She was a tremendous example of the values we uphold at PBA. I wish her nothing but the best as she pursues God's next right step for her."
During her time at the helm, Redus oversaw seven All-SSC honorees, including PBA's all-time leading scorer,
Kash Ayuso, and 2020-21 SSC Defensive Player of the Year, Shekinah Guthrie. The 'Fish earned 17 SSC weekly awards in Redus' stint, including six honorees during the 2024-25 season.
Arguably, Redus' biggest win as the leader of the Sailfish came during the 2022-23 season when PBA took down No. 6-ranked Tampa on the road. Redus pioneered the Sailfish through the 2020-21 Covid season, seeing the Sailfish make a run to the SSC tournament championship game.
PBA will begin a national search for a new head women's basketball coach immediately.
