WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's basketball team had one student-athlete earn Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators.
Anabel Ellison from the PBA women's basketball team earned honors from CSC for her work on and off the court.
To be eligible for the academic all-District program, the student-athlete must hold a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average. Nominated student-athletes must be upperclassmen participating in at least 90 percent or starting in 66 percent of the team's games.
Ellison just completed her first season on the court with the Sailfish, starting in 26 of the 28 games PBA women's basketball competed in this season. She averaged 10.8 points, 3.5 assists, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.11 steals. She led the SSC in steals and was named to the SSC all-defensive team. She scored double digits in 15 games this season, including two 20+ point games. She is majoring in Nursing.
The Sailfish just completed their season, posting a 14-15 overall record with an 8-12 conference record. They made their second SSC Tournament appearance as the sixth seed.
