Sailfish Drop Series with Florida Tech

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish dropped the second and third games of the series against Florida Tech on Saturday. The Sailfish saw their 10-game winning streak snapped on Friday night and the Panthers completed the sweep on Saturday.  

The Sailfish look to flush this series and return to action on Wednesday when they host Bentley in a midweek matchup at 6:00 p.m.  

Game One 

Dane Hall started on the bump for PBA in game number one but didn't have his usual stuff that the Sailfish are accustomed to. Hall took the loss and only threw 3 full innings with 55 pitches. Hall allowed four hits and three runs on one walk and one strikeout and had three HBPs. 

Daniel Foster came on in relief of Hall and pitched well. Foster through 5.1 innings on 60 total pitches. He only allowed two runs on three hits and two walks. Foster also had two strikeouts. Steve Trone finished the ball game on the mound for the Sailfish allowing one hit in 0.2 innings of work.  

The Sailfish struggled at the plate and only had five hits for two runs. PBA found themselves down 3-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth. Chris Amparo put a ball in play to the shortstop who threw the ball away and allowed Trey Miranda to score. The Sailfish were within two. PBA added another run in the bottom of the seventh via an RBI single from Jake McNamara. However, the Panthers added two insurance runs in the top of the ninth to stave off the Sailfish comeback attempt and won 5-3 

Game Two 

Daniel Langfelder started the game for PBA and gave up eight hits and one walk through 1.1 innings pitched and nine runs. Langfelder also had three strikeouts on 44 total pitches. The Sailfish deployed eight different pitchers in the game including Langfelder. The game got out of hand quickly and the Panthers were up 9-3 coming out of the second inning. The Panthers had multiple innings of 3 or more runs and took the win 21-6. Chris Amparo had a solo home run. Ben Green went 3-4 with an RBI. Patrick Rakes went 3-3.
