Orlando, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team took down the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds on Thursday morning in a neutral site matchup.
In the doubles session, Luis Eduardo Platas and Alejandro Rol Franco took the first position by a score of 6-2. In the second position, Milan and Marko Visontai dropped their match by a score of 4-6. In the third position, Imani Beharry and Saidakbar Kamalov dropped their match 4-6 to give the Sunbirds the first point of the match.
Moving onto singles, Luis Eduardo Platas dropped the first position match 5-6, 6-4, 0-1 (5-10). In the second position, Milan Visontai took down his opponent in convincing fashion, 6-1, 6-2. In the third position, Marko Visontai won a tight match, 7-5, 6-4.
Saidakbar Kamalov, playing in the fourth position, started off the first set 1-4. However, Kamalov stormed back to win the matchup in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3. Imani Beharry clinched the match for the Sailfish coming from behind to defeat his opponent by a score of 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-5). Alejandro Rol Franco dropped the sixth and final match of the day by a score of 6-2. 3-6, 0-1 (6-10) but no harm was done as PBA had already clinched the win.
The Sailfish return to action on Sunday when they take on Jefferson on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
