FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.- After an exciting extra-inning win in game one on Friday night, the Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader on Saturday to drop the series to the Nova Southeastern Sharks. The Sailfish fell 12-2 in game one and 15-1 in game two.
The Sailfish look to bounce back on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. when they take on the Sharks again this time in a nonconference game at J.M. 'Jake' Rubin Park.
GAME ONE
Dane Hall got the start for the 'Fish in game one and got through five full innings. Hall allowed seven runs on nine hits, two walks and had six strikeouts on 90 pitches. The Sharks put up ten unanswered runs before the Sailfish got on the board in the seventh and eighth thanks to RBIs from Jake McNamara and Finley Holmes.
Liam Martin allowed 3 hits and 3 runs on 25 pitches before making way for Gavin Ingram who got through two full innings with only one hit and no runs on 27 pitches. Christian Alonso finished things on the bump with one inning and allowing two runs on two hits and a walk. Finley Holmes was a bright spot for the Sailfish with three hits in four at-bats.
GAME TWO
Derek Langfelder started on the mound for the Sailfish in game two and got through 1.1 innings and allowed five runs on five hits. Langfelder had three walks and three strikeouts on 58 pitches. Daniel Foster allowed five hits and seven runs, five earned in 1.2 innings of work. Jared Murray, Jimmie Buhl, and Jask Mischke all saw action on the mound to finish out game two.
The Sailfish lone run came from a sacrifice ground ball from Ben Green that scored Jake McNamara in the third inning.
