WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team lost their midweek matchup to the Lynn Fighting Knights on Tuesday evening by a score of 12-4.
The Sailfish went down early with the Knights manufacturing a run in each the first and second innings. However, Kody Kelly cut the deficit in half with a solo shot over the right field fence. The first homer of the season for Kelly was also the first of his college career. The Sailfish tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead. However, Lynn put up a four spot and tacked on two runs in the fifth and eighth innings before the Sailfish responded with another Kody Kelly solo shot homerun. Lynn added two more runs in the top of the ninth to seal the game and take the 12-4 victory.
The Sailfish utilized ten different pitchers in the game in an attempt to keep the pitching staff rested for this upcoming weekend series at Nova Southeastern.
