TAMPA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track team began its season on Saturday at the Tampa Spartans Open.
PBA started the day off strong in the 1500m race.
Nella Petersen was the best Sailfish finisher in 14th with a time of 5:00.26.
Natalee Kryman set a personal best in the event, earning 17th at 5:08.20.
Julia Kooyer (5:40.15) also competed in the event, placing 25th.
Hannah Atwell was PBA's best finisher in the 800m race, earning 15th with a time of 2:33.96.
Alyssa Benson was not far off in 17th, running a 2:36.00.
Ava Spampanato (2:47.68) rounded out the Sailfish lineup in 25th.
Sadie Nordmeyer set a new personal best in the 3000m, breaking her previous best by 19 seconds. She finished in seventh, with a time of 10:26.00.
Amberleigh Sorensen also earned a top-ten finish, placing ninth with a personal record of 10:30.05.
Isabella Del Busto finished 18th, running a personal best at 10:53.15 in her collegiate track debut.
Abbie White (10:54.72) followed right behind in 19th.
Kamea Baker ran a personal best 11:06.26 in her college debut, finishing 23rd.
Hannah Parker rounded out the PBA lineup in 25th, finishing with a time of 11:07.17.
The Sailfish finished the day with the 4x400m relay. The team of Sorenson, Nordmeyer, Petersen, and Petraskaite finished sixth with a time of 4:20.33.
PBA competes again on Feb. 28 at the NSU Shark Invite.
