WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team welcomed the Keiser Seahawks to the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon but dropped the match by a score of 6-1.
The doubles session started off the day for PBA. Playing in the first position in doubles, Juanfer Contreras and Luis Eduardo Platas dropped their match 1-6. The pairing of brothers, Marko Visontai and Milan Visontai, fell 3-6 in the second position. In the third and final doubles match, Peter Dragar and Alejandro Rol Franco lost 0-6.
As singles play began, it was much of the same story for PBA. Luis Eduardo Platas pushed his opponent to the brink but ultimately lost the matchup 2-6, 6-2, 0-1 (10-12). The second match also went to a tiebreaker. Milan Visontai got the lone point of the match for PBA by taking the second position victory by a score of 1-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8).
In the third matchup, Juanfer Contreras dropped his match 4-6, 1-6. In the fourth position, Marko Visontai fell 1-6, 1-6. Matthew Young suffered a similar fate in the fifth position falling 1-6, 0-6. In the sixth and final position, Alejandro Rol Franco kept things tight but dropped the match 2-6, 5-7.
The Sailfish look to bounce back early on Friday morning when they take the St. Thomas Bobcats at 9 a.m. in Miami Gardens.
