WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team completed a three-game sweep of the Felician Golden Dragons with a 12-1 win on Saturday afternoon. Between the offensive explosion combined with another great start from the Sailfish rotation, the 'Fish took off from the very first inning and never looked back.
Dane Hall got the start and the win on the bump for the Sailfish and went five full innings, allowing 0 hits and 0 runs with 3 walks and 9 strikeouts on 77 total pitches. Another stellar outing for the Sailfish rotation. Daniel Langfelder came out of the bullpen in relief of Hall. Langfelder continued the great pitching from Hall in relief, only giving up one hit in three innings pitched. With three strikeouts on 37 total pitches, Langfelder gave way to Jimmie Buhl who came into the game in the ninth in a non-save situation. Buhl struck out two but gave up two hits and one earned run in the inning.
Matt Faranda and Jake McNamara both had multiple hits this afternoon. Faranda went five for five with 3 doubles and 3 RBIs. Jake McNamara went two for three with 3 RBIs on the afternoon before getting a well-deserved rest later in the game after a great series on both sides of the ball.
The Sailfish scratched runs across in six of the eight innings they went up to bat. 12 runs is the most scored by the Sailfish this season and the most scored in a game by PBA since a 13-12 win over St. Thomas almost two years to the exact day on February 14, 2023.
The Sailfish, on a six-game win streak, return to action on February 25th against Barry in a non-conference game at 6:00 p.m. at the J.M. "Jake" Rubin Park.
