LAKELAND, Fla.-The Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf team finished in twelfth place on Tuesday afternoon after the third round of play in the Matlock Classic. The Sailfish squad finished with a score of +24 in the sixteen-team field.
Raines Holmes, who finished 17th, led the way for the Sailfish with a final result of +1 after three rounds of 73, 70 and 74 (217) on the par 72 Lone Palm Golf Club. Nicholas Estrada, a Sailfish newcomer, finished 24th individually with a final score of +3 (219) over the three rounds.
Cole Gillis followed behind Holmes and Estrada with a three-round score of +9 (225) which was good enough for a 55th place finish (225). Caleb Lynady and Trey Tesiero rounded out the Sailfish squad with a score of +18 (234). Tesiero battled back after an 11-over first round. Lynady and Tesiero both finished tied for 74th.
The Sailfish will tee it up again next Monday and Tuesday when they head to the Saint Leo Invitational.
