KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer team skyrockets to No. 8 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll. PBA posts two Sunshine State Conference wins this past week against Barry and Florida Southern. The 'Fish climb to a 7-0-1 record and 3-0-1 SSC record.
Against Barry, the Sailfish recorded a 3-1 victory after entering the half trailing 1-0.
Tin Vastic notched the brace after netting the equalizer in the 51
st minute and the go-ahead goal in the 59
th minute. In the 77
thminute, PBA secured the victory off the boot of Livio Von Holzen. Goalkeeper
Flavio Giannini displayed a clinic after recording 11 saves to hold the Buccaneers to just one goal in the match.
Against Florida Southern, the Sailfish recorded a 2-0 shutout behind another brace from Vastic. Vastic scored his first goal in the 20
th minute off the assist from
Veit Klement followed by the second goal in the 31
st minute.
This marks the third consecutive week that the Sailfish have been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
The Sailfish return to action tomorrow evening for another SSC matchup at the PBA Soccer/Lacrosse Field against No. 14 Florida Tech. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. (EST).
