KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Palm Beach Atlantic men's soccer team continues to climb in the United Soccer Coaches poll this week after sitting at a 5-0-1 overall record so far this season. The Sailfish climb two spots after marking a draw against No. 9 Tampa, who also climbed three spots, this past weekend.
This past Saturday, PBA traveled to Tampa to take on the Spartans where the match resulted in a 1-1 draw. Both teams were evenly matched through the first half of play until Tampa broke away in the 73
rd minute. Trailing 1-0, PBA's
Niklas Mahler netted the equalizer on a pass up field from
Livio von Holzen and
Paul Danner. Mahler's goal and strong defensive efforts from the Sailfish saw the match conclude, 1-1.
This marks the second consecutive week that the Sailfish have been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
The Sailfish return to action this evening at Barry for another Sunshine State Conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. (EST).
