MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team was picked to finish ninth in the Sunshine State Conference preseason coaches' poll released on Tuesday morning.
The Sailfish are entering their first season under new coach Jeff Huebner. The new-look PBA team features nine newcomers that were not on the roster last fall. Six of the nine newcomers are transfers who could look to make an immediate impact. PBA returns middles

Harper Stokes, two of the most efficient pieces of its attack last season. Other returners
Anna Beth Stokes, Abigail Zylstra, and
Taylor Nelson also look to make an impact for the 'Fish.
Defending SSC champion Tampa earned the number one spot in the conference poll with 10 first-place votes. Lynn earned second place with 88 points. Nova Southeastern was picked third and received a first-place vote. Embry-Riddle and Florida Southern rounded out the top five.
PBA has a chance to prove the doubters wrong, beginning its season at the Florida Southern Volleyball Classic on Sept. 6. The squad plays matches against Augusta and Lewis to tip-off the 2024 campaign. PBA plays its home opener on Friday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. against Cedarville as a part of the Hyatt Place Bash at the Beach.
