JUPITER, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track team competed in the Keiser Twilight Invitational at nearby Jupiter High School on Friday night.
The Sailfish started the meet with the 1500m race.
Gwendelyn Shamel was PBA's best finisher in the race, placing ninth, with a time of 5:00.53.
Hannah Parker finished 12th, running a 5:03.79.
Sadie Nordmeyer was right behind in 13th with a time of 5:05.18.
Allison Seng placed 15th with a time of 5:08.43.
Margaret Myskowski followed in 16th, running a 5:08.43. Parker and Myskowski set new PRs.
Ella Malone led the way in seventh for the Sailfish in the 800m. Malone ran a personal best time of 2:21.51, the fourth-best time in program history. Christie finished 13th with a time of 2:29.32. Nella Petersen (2:29.55) finished 15th,
Alyssa Benson (2:29.60) place 16th, and
Anya Frey (2:30.80) earned 17th.
Faith Kulis ran a time of 2:34.62 in 20th.
Julia Kooyer came in 27th, running a 2:40.54.
Ava Spampanato rounded out the PBA lineup in 34th with a time of 2:47.63. Christie, Petersen, Benson, Frey, Kooyer, and Spampanato all set new PRs.
Joni Dice represented the Sailfish in the discus. Dice posted the eighth-longest throw, tossing a distance of 30.34, breaking her school record.
Angelina Baader was the best Sailfish finisher in the 5000m. She finished fifth with a time of 19:36.40.
Chloe Smith came in ninth with a time of 20:21.67.
Darah Oniwa earned 11th, running a 21:20.98.
PBA finished the day with the 4x400m. The team of Benson, Frey, Kooyer, and Petersen led the way in fifth with a time of 4:31.55. Shamel, Christie, Kulis, and Seng followed in sixth, with a time of 4:36.32. Malone,
Emma Hanstveit, Spampanato, and Parker earned seventh running 4:44.26.
The Sailfish compete again on April 26 at the North Florida East Coast Relays.
