WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. - Early Thursday morning, the PBA men's tennis team played against Southern New Hampshire University and lost 5-2.
Out of six singles matches, four courts played a super set to ten. Luis Eduardo Platas won his match 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6) against No. 38 Jesse den Hartog. The other Sailfish to win his match was Marko Visontai. His final score was 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8). Roberto Binaghi made a strong lead with his first set, but ultimately fell 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5) on court one. Juanifer Contreras fought hard in the first set, but lost his last two sets with a final score of 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 1-0 (13-11). On court four Axel Reich retired early dropping his match at 6-4, 1-0. Joseph Ramirez fell in two sets 6-4, 6-3.
The Sailfish lost all three doubles matches. The pair of Binaghi and Platas fell 7-5. Juan Fernandez and Peter Drager lost 6-4, while Noah Muyale and Visontai dropped their match 6-1.
Next up, PBA will play on Sunday March, 10th against Jefferson University at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
