JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track team competed at the Bob Hayes Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of North Florida on Friday.
It was a long day for the Sailfish, with events ranging from 10:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.
The women's track team started with the 800m race.
Caitlyn Christie (2:30.91) and
Alyssa Benson (2:30.95) finished 19th and 20th, respectively, as the top finishers for PBA.
Faith Kulis placed 26th, with a time of 2:35.00.
Anya Frey earned 31st, running a 2:42.91. Ava Spampanto rounded out the PBA lineup in 34th with a time of 2:52.34.
Gwendelyn Shamel was the top finisher for PBA in the 1500m, running a 5:02.66. Nella Petersen followed in 19th with a 5:08.54.
Ella Malone earned 22nd with a time of 5:13.25.
Julia Kooyer placed 38th, running a 5:49,70.
The 'Fish ended the day with a 5000m race.
Emma Hanstveit earned a top-ten finish. She placed sixth, with a time of 17:43.36, improving her best time by a second.
Allison Seng earned 12th place with a time of 18:21.33.
Hannah Parker entered the program's top ten in program history, finishing 22nd, with a time of 18:50.64.
Margaret Myskowski (19:31.05) finished in 33rd,
Angelina Baader (19:52.90) placed 37th, and
Darah Oniwa (21:01.83) earned 41st to end the day for PBA.
Sailfish track competes again on March 29 at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic in Daytona Beach.
