TAMPA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track team competed at the Tampa Distance Classic on Friday night.
The Sailfish started the day with the 1500m race.
Ella Malone led PBA in fourth place with a time of 4:54.72. Her time was good for the sixth-best time in school history. Gwendelyn also earned a top-ten finish, placing ninth with a time of 5:04.38. Nella Petersen and
Allison Seng were right behind her in 11th and 12th place. Peterson posted a time of 5:06.35 and Seng recorded a time of 6:06.53.
Alyssa Benson placed 14th with a time of 5:09.65.
Margaret Myskowski (5:11.53) and
Angelina Baader (5:12.39) finished 17th and 18th respectively.
Caitlyn Christie (5:22.41) in 22nd,
Ava Spampanato (5:43.20) in 34th, and
Julia Kooyer (5:58.09) in 40th rounded up the PBA lineup.
The team of
Joni Dice,
Faith Kulis, Shamel, and Spampanato competed in the 4x100m race. The team posted the best time in school history, posted a time of 57.57.
Christie posted PBA's best time in the 800m race with a time of 2:29.52. Petersen placed 12th with a time of 2:32.27.
Anya Frey finished in 16th place, recording a time of 2:34.33. Benson earned 18th place, running 2:35.98. Kulis (2:38.19) also represented PBA in 20th.
Emma Hanstveit led the way for the Sailfish in the 5000m race. She finished seventh with a time of 17:44.46. Her time marked the fourth-fastest time in school history.
Hannah Parker placed 26th, with a time of 19:08.00.
Darah Oniwa (21:32.24) in 44th and
Amalia Rimes in 47th (22:01.90) rounded out the lineup for PBA.
The Sailfish compete again on March 15th at the Boy Hayes Invitation in Jacksonville.
