Sailfish Drop Game To Post on Friday Night

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA.- The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish took on Post University in a Friday night match up and lost by a score of 5-1 .

Post had its first game of the season against the Sailfish while PBA was trying to bounce back from four tough losses from the weekend prior. The Eagles play two more SSC foes this weekend in a doubleheader against the Nova Southeastern University Sharks and the Lynn University Fighting Knights.

Post jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead until, in the bottom of the fourth inning, sophomore Ben Green got the Sailfish on the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly out to right field that allowed the Graduate student from Titusville, Fla., Matty Warren, to score the first run of the game for the 'Fish.

The Eagles held the Sailfish off on the scoring for the rest of the game and added another run to their score column in the top of the ninth, making it 5-1. The Sailfish failed to make any noise in the bottom of the ninth,

Coach Kent Bottenfield used three pitchers on the evening including #24, Isaac Beebe, who got the start on the mount. He gave up three earned runs on 10 hits in seven innings pitched. Jimmie Buhl tossed 1.1 innings of relief. He was charged with one earned run. Daniel Foster finished the bottom of the ninth for the Sailfish.

PBA will compete again on Saturday, Feb. 10 where it hosts its second doubleheader of the season. At 11 am, they will face off against Bentley University and at 4 pm, they will face off against Mount Olive University for their last game of the week.
