Volleyball Falls in Four Sets to Tampa

TAMPA, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team fell to the University of Tampa Spartans by a score of 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Harper Stokes and Kelsey Rogers led the way once again this afternoon for the Sailfish. Rogers led the 'Fish from both sides of the ball with nine kills and four blocks. Stokes was close behind with eight kills and two blocks.

"It's important to start to build road wins as a group and I thought we took some steps forward with our progress again today against Tampa," said Coach Jeff Huebner. "Kelsey and Harper led again with really good play out of the middle. It took us a little too long to get them going, but I thought we battled well throughout."

Gabi Ashcraft led the Sailfish with 27 assists in the match. Savanna Rogers had a team-high 20 digs for the Sailfish.

"Defensively, we played really well in the third and fourth sets, especially in Right Back, with Gabi scoring 16 digs, 27 assists and 3 blocks," said Huebner. "I was proud of the way we continued to make adjustments offensively and create out of system opportunities for our team to earn control of the rally back."

As the Sailfish continue to search for their first conference win of the season, Jeff Huebner and his team continue to trust the process and put in hard work every day.

"We are looking forward to another week of training and continuing to compete everyday," said Huebner.

The Sailfish return to the court next Friday when they head to Embry-Riddle at 7:00 p.m.
