10/22/2024 3:44:00 PM

ST, AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf team hit the road for two days of play at the Flagler Fall Slam. The Sailfish played 18 holes each day, shooting the third-best team score each round to finish tied for third overall in the 13-team field.

The Sailfish were led by freshman Jaycee Jenkins who played the best golf of her young career, shooting rounds of even par 72 and 71, to four shots off the lead to finish tied for second. Nina Gudgeon had her typical steady game as she fired rounds of 75-74 to finish in seventh place. Tied with Gudgeon was Annika Miller, who was competing as an individual, opened with a strong round of 71 and sat tied for first place before closing with a 78 in the second round.

Riley Hamilton was once again in position for another top-5 finish after her opening round 72, but she struggled for the first time as she closed with an 84 today to finish 26th. Celia Schrecker also had a Jeckyll and Hyde performance as she struggled in round one with an 86 before bouncing back with a 73 in round two to climb to 33rd. Cara Hilburn competed as an individual with Miller and fired rounds of 84-75 while Marie-Luise Schrader shot two rounds of 83 to finish tied for 55th.

The Sailfish have achieved their highest ranking in program history after their strong start to the season and will tee it up again on Feb. 10 at the Lincoln Memorial Spring Kickoff.
