LONGWOOD, Fla.- The Palm Beach Atlantic women's golf team finished in a tie for fourth at the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational with a final score of +36, led by
Abby Smith's impressive 12th-place finish at +9.
Smith was the standout for the Sailfish, opening the tournament with a solid +2 in the first round and wrapping up with a +7 in the third round.
Celia Schrecker showcased resilience by tying for 21st place; despite a challenging +10 in the first round, she bounced back with an even par in the final round.
Both
Jaycee Jenkins and
Cara Hilburn tied for 26th, each finishing at +12. Jenkins delivered a +4 in the first round, concluding with an +8 in the third, while Hilburn, playing individually, recorded rounds of +3 and +9.
The 'Fish ended the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational with a 36-over par, securing fourth place. Held at the Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes, the 'Fish shot a 13-over in the first round and a 23-over in the third, with the second round canceled due to weather conditions.
The Sailfish return to the course next week when they hit the road and head to Greenwood, South Carolina for a tournament hosted by Lander.
