ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf team placed first at the Flagler Jay Jennison Cup earlier this week. The Sailfish competed against 13 other teams and controlled the first place standing through both days.
After a rocky start to the season, the 'Fish came ready to play at the Flagler Jay Jennison Cup.
Trey Tesiero led the way for PBA through day one, finishing in second place and only one stroke shy of finishing in first. He shot an outstanding 65 in round one and a 71 in round two. Another couple notable finishes were
Justus Verge and
Cade Coffey. Verge placed fourth after day one, shooting an average of 69.5 through the first two rounds. Coffey also found himself in the top ten on day one, finishing in fifth with an average of 69.5 as well.
Day two was much of the same from the Sailfish.
Trey Tesiero woke up feeling dangerous and went on to claim that first place individual finish after the final round of play.
Justus Verge had a notable day two after placing in fifth to round out the top five.
Cade Coffey and
Niko Karoutsos both found themselves in the top 20 as well after finishing 14th and 16th, respectively.
PBA as a team shot a total of 421 strokes in round one, 435 in round two, and 439 in round three. This was the best team effort all season for the men's golf team.
The Sailfish are back once again next week where they will compete at Nova Southeastern University Invite on Oct. 2-3.
