Women's Track Takes on UT Distance Classic

TAMPA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track team competed at the Tampa Distance Classic on Friday night. This meet was PBA's second of the spring.

The Sailfish started the day with the 1500m race. Aofie Mahony placed fourth in the race, running a time of 4:50.34, the fifth fastest time in school history. Abbie Harris finished 25th with a time of 5:32.81.

Next up was the 4x100m relay race. The team of Harris, Joni Dice, Chloe Smith, and Faith Kulis placed second behind Tampa with a time of 59.72.

Mahony was PBA's top finisher in the 800m race. She finished eighth with a mark of 2:23.77. Ella Malone (2:43.92) made her PBA debut, placing 30th. Kulis (2:56.76) followed in 33rd place.

Madelyn Rodriguez led the way for PBA in the 5000m race. She ran the second-fastest time in school history. She placed fifth with a time of 17:36.63. Dune Costes beat her personal best time by almost 30 seconds. Costes placed ninth with a 17:52.67 mark. Allison Seng (17.58.19) turned in an 11th-place finish. Emma Baron ran a personal best time of 18:34.39 to come in 19th place. Sadie Nordmeyer (19:13.47) came in 33rd place. Angelina Baader (20:03.09) finished 52nd, Julia Kooyer (21:14.12) placed 63rd, and Smith (21:16.70) finished 64th to round out the rest of the PBA participants.

The Sailfish compete again on March 17 at the Black and Gold Invitational in Orlando.
