BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team earned their second conference win in a road matchup with Lynn University. The 'Fish were able to stop a comeback and steal the first of three games 9-6.
It had been almost a week since the last time the Sailfish took the field and it looked like the rest was well needed. The Sailfish bats were hot all game tallying 17 on the day. The game was tied 1-1 in the early goings until the 'Fish blew the game open in the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth,
Dre Llopiz was able to plate one run with a sacrifice fly ball out to right field.
Nate Housen and
Pedro Figueroa would bring in multiple runs in the fifth to make the score 5-1.
The Knights would immediately storm back and respond with a three-run home run to cut the lead to just one. In the seventh, Lynn would score two more times to take their first lead of the game. PBA would deal a decisive blow in the eighth inning to try and seal the win.
Ben Green and
Matthew Faranda would reach base to lead off the inning.
Nate Housen would earn his second RBI of the game with a single, followed up by and RBI single by
Mikey Casaleggio.
Pedro Figueroa would cap off this big inning by the 'Fish with a single that would plate two.
With their lead extended to three runs late in the game, Sailfish would hold off the Knights to steal the road win. PBA will continue the SSC series against Lynn with a doubleheader tomorrow.
