ORLANDO, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's track team competed in the UCF Black and Gold on Friday.
The Sailfish competed in three events at the meet, starting with the 1500m run. PBA got to run against several NCAA Division I Power-5 programs in the meet.
Aoife Mahony (4:43.43) was the highest finisher for the Sailfish, placing 27th. She ran the second-fastest time in school history in the 1500m race.
Ella Malone (5:19.46) placed 55th followed by
Abbie Harris (5:25.34) finishing 59th, and
Faith Kulis (6:30.09) earning 62nd place.
Dune Costes was PBA's lone representative in the 2000m steeplechase. She finished fourth with a time of 7:06.94.
PBA's day was highlighted by
Madelyn Rodriguez's third-place finish in the 5000m run with a time of 17:29.79.
Laura Georgelin (17:48.83) finished fifth followed by
Allison Seng (17:55.03) in seventh, and
Gwendelyn Shamel (18:59.53) in 10th.
Sadie Nordmeyer (19:52.16) placed 17th,
Angelina Baader (19:59.91) finished 19th followed by
Chloe Smith (20:55.41) in 23rd and
Julia Kooyer (21:34.55) in 25th.
The Sailfish compete again on March 31 at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla.
