Sailfish Comeback to Take Game Three Over Yellow Jackets

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team took on American International College for the third of a four-game set. The 'Fish got down early, but were able to pull away and dominate the game in the later stages, winning 13-8.

It was a rough start for PBA in the early goings of the game and the Yellow Jackets were able to take full advantage of it. AIC scored six runs across the second, third, and fourth innings largely due to five errors by the Sailfish. PBA would battle in those early innings to try and weather the storm. Dre Llopiz would earn an RBI sac fly in the second inning and Pedro Figueroa and Nate Housen drove in runs in the third.

AIC would have a 7-3 lead in this game heading into the bottom of the fifth inning. Much like the last two games in this series, the Sailfish offense would come alive and produce a big inning. Figueroa and Housen would lead the fifth off with walks and Mikey Casaleggio would single to left field to bring both runners in to score. Ben Green continued his stellar performance in this series with a a double to right center to move Casaleggio to third base. Dre Llopiz would then blast a three-run homer down the left field line to give PBA the lead.

Once the Sailfish grabbed a hold of this game, they never looked back. In the bottom of the sixth PBA began their game-clinching push. Ben Green would earn a lead off single and would score from first off of a double from Dre Llopiz. Jeremy Texel would follow up with a double of his own that would bring Llopiz in to score. PBA would load the bases later in the half inning and AIC would walk in a run. Nate Housen would earn a single to right field that scored two, capping off a 10-run swing in this game.

Ryan Webster would be credited with his first win on the season in a solid relief effort on the mound. He had a rocky start, but settled in quickly and helped keep the Yellow Jackets at bay, striking out five hitters on the day.

PBA will look for the full sweep of AIC tomorrow Mar. 13.
