Sailfish Rout Yellow Jackets 16-3

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Palm Beach Atlantic baseball took game one of a four game slate against American International College in dominant fashion. The 'Fish tallied 18 hits in this game in route to a 16-3 win over the Yellow Jackets.

The Sailfish were firing on all cylinders in this game offensively, averaging .429 as a team in this game. Their 18 hits included six multi-base opportunities with three triples from Matty Warren, Ben Green, and Elias Machado. Giovany Lorenzo showed signs of getting back on track this season with a three-run blast down the left field line in the bottom of the sixth inning. Jeremy Texel decided to join in on the fun that same inning. He would lift one down the left field line and just past the foul line pole. After some deliberation from the umpires, Texel was awarded with the solo home run.

PBA also got things done on the defensive end as well. The pitching of Chris Seymour, Justin Lovell, and Ethan Petric would give the Yellow Jacket hitters fits all game. As a collective, the bullpen trio would only give up three runs and five total hits on the night. The group sat 14 batters down on strikes with seven of them coming from Seymour.

PBA will take on AIC again tomorrow in the second of this four-game series between these two teams.
