LAKELAND, Fla. -- The PBA men's golf team just finished up the 2023 Matlock Classic, hosted by fellow Sunshine State Conference Member Florida Southern College. The Sailfish finished in ninth place out of 15 teams.
Andrew Riley was the leader for PBA in this one. He tied for 15th place after having a slow start in the earlier rounds. The Sophomore ended the final round +1 with two birdies.
Justus Verge was the second highest finish for the Sailfish, finishing the final round +4. Felipe Alvarez from Barry University came away as the individual winner, beating Florida Southern's Freddie Parlby in a playoff on the 18th hole. Nova Southeastern would take the team win home with three of their golfers finishing in the top-15.
For the Sailfish,
Carl St-Arnaud finished in a tie for 34th place,
Cade Coffey finished in a tie for 36th, and
Trey Tesiero ended his day in 48th place to round out the final placements.
PBA will tee off again Feb. 13 for the Lincoln Memorial Invitational.
