WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic volleyball team competed against No. 2-ranked Tampa on Friday night.
The Sailfish faced a Spartans squad that was undefeated entering the match. PBA looked to snap the women's streak but came up short in three sets.
Taylor Nelson led PBA with seven kills and five digs, hitting .217.
Abbie Zylstra tallied six kills with two digs.
Mary Morgan Formby totaled five kills with six digs.
Payton Ahrenstorff led the 'Fish with nine digs.
Jayden Otto recorded 19 assists and eight digs.
The Spartans came out on top of the third set, 25-12. The Sailfish started strong in the second set, taking an early 8-4 lead. UT responded with a run of its own, gaining a 17-12 advantage. The visitors closed out the set, 25-18. UT closed the match by defeating PBA 25-14 in the third set.
PBA volleyball takes on Florida Southern on Saturday. The match at Rubin Arena takes place at 4 p.m.
