ORLANDO, FLA.- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's golf team tied for ninth at the Citrus Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon. The Sailfish competed in their final match for the fall and will not be back until early February.
Nova Southeastern University placed first in the tournament shooting a total of 857 as a team to take home the trophy. Barry followed in second and only was one stroke shy of tying for first with the Sharks. Rollins College and Keiser University placed in third and fourth and were also one stroke away from tying each other. The Tar's finished with 862 for the three rounds and the Seahawks finished with 863. The University of Tampa rounded out the top five with a score of 864.
Palm Beach Atlantic tied for ninth place with Embry-Riddle. Both teams finished with a score of 880 in the two days. Some notable 'Fish performers,
Trey Tesiero and
Raines Holmes, both tied for 14th and 16th place in the tournament. Tesiero shot a 217 total and Holmes followed right behind with a score of 218.
Cade Coffey was the only other Sailfish in the top 50 tying at 36. Coffey shot a 222.
PBA competed in five matches this fall and had some notable finishes in a couple of them. They had an amazing performance at Flagler in late September with a first place finish for the tournament. Another notable performance was when they traveled to Nova Southeastern University for a tournament and placed 6th out of 16 teams.
The Sailfish will be back on February 5. where they will go to Florida Southern to compete in their first tournament of the spring season.
