DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Earlier this morning, the Palm Beach Atlantic men's cross country team competed in the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Sailfish finished in third place out of 15 teams and over 140 runners.
Toinou Laigle picked up where he left off two weeks ago, finishing in second place with a time of 26:40.77.
Jake Lonsdale earned a top ten finish in this meet, coming in seventh place with a time of 27:05.93. Embry-Riddle came away with both the individual and team wins on their home course, getting four of their runners to cross the finish line in the top 20.
For the Sailfish,
Nathan Yates earned a top 15 finish with a time of 27:22.58,
Zachariah Shealy finished in 30th place with a time of 28:20.43, and
Michael Kirwan finished in 48th place (28:58.88) to round out the top five placements. This meet was a good test for the men's team to see how they stack up against other Sunshine State Conference opponents as the Championship meet gets closer. The 'Fish are picked to finish fifth in the conference and are looking to continue this hot streak into the month of November.
PBA will run again on Sept. 30 for the FAU Home Invitational.
