WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic men's lacrosse team's
Gunner Gebelein earned All-Region honorable mention honors by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) on Tuesday.
Gebelein becomes the first Sailfish in program history to earn all-region honors from the USILA. This award adds to the abundance of accolades in Gebelein's career. He is an All-American, three-time All-SSC honoree, and former SSC Freshman of the Year.
The Huntingtown, Md. native was named to the Sunshine State Conference second team this season. He led the SSC with 3.07 caused turnovers per game. He also had the most groundballs of any defender in the conference, picking up 4.71 per game. Gebelein etched his name into PBA history, becoming the first lacrosse player to reach 200 groundballs and 100 caused turnovers.
Gebelein helped lead the Sailfish to five wins, just one win shy of the most in a season in program history. This season included the program's first wins against Flagler, Assumption, Lincoln Memorial, and North Greenville.
