Sailfish Drop Game Two Against Sharks

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --  The second game of the SSC series between Palm Beach Atlantic and Nova Southeastern concluded earlier this evening. The Sailfish struggled, dropping the game 4-1.

The 'Fish were looking to rectify their outing from the previous loss against the Sharks, and they did a much better job on the defensive end as this game progressed. PBA allowed only nine hits compared to the 20 they gave up on Thursday night.

The Sailfish still had some costly errors that prevented them from closing out crucial innings in this game. In addition, Nova was able to capitalize on these mistakes with solid hitting and some aggressive baserunning. The Sharks would get a run in the second, third, fifth, and eighth innings, but were not able to make a large run like they did in Thursday night's game.

PBA tried to fight back late in this game, scoring a run in the sixth inning. Jake Roper led off with a single to center field, followed up by a great bunt from Dylan Tosto. Matty Warren was able to move Roper and Tosto into scoring position, and Davis Blair was able to put the ball in play well enough so that Roper could cross the plate. That run was the only one the Sailfish could manage, only tallying three total hits in the game and leaving a few potential scoring runners on base.

PBA will take on Nova again for the last game of this series on Saturday Apr. 16.
