WEST PALM BEACH, Fla- The Palm Beach Atlantic men's tennis team concluded their regular season with a 5-2 victory over St. Thomas at the Mitch Gornto Tennis Center.
The 'Fish took 2/3 to secure the doubles point.
Umberto Rosi and
Jorge Santamaria picked up their sixth doubles win of the year over Thomas Andrews and Jacob Turley 6-1.
Roberto Binaghi and
Osvaldo Sergio Godoy fell 6-2.
Rodolfo Hasegawa and
Blake Williams took down Adria Aguilar Gurrer and Yosue Noa 6-2 for their 13th victory of the season. The Hasegawa-Williams tandem led the Sailfish in doubles competition this year with a 13-1 record.
In singles competition, Binaghi defeated Andrews 6-2, 6-4. Santamaria (9-4) beat Raul Safont Martinez 6-4, 6-2. Hasegawa notched his seventh singles win of the year over Juan Patino Pabon 6-2, 6-4. Williams won in three sets over Turley 6-2, 4-6, 10-0.
Juan Fernandez dropped his match 6-3, 7-6.
Joao Vellosso appeared in the singles lineup for the 'Fish. Vellosso fell in three sets 5-7, 6-2, 10-6.
PBA finished its regular season at 6-8 this season, a five-win improvement from 2021. Next, the Sailfish will compete in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.
