WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – It was a tough outing for the Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team in their series opener against Nova Southeastern earlier tonight. The Sharks dominated the game up early, beating the Sailfish 22-6.
The first inning was less than ideal for the Sailfish. Nova Southeastern was firing on all cylinders, hitting the ball all over the field. The Sharks scored 12 runs off of six hits and a few walks by the Sailfish pitchers.
The 'Fish would get two runs of their own in the second inning off of an two-RBI single from
Nate Housen. However, the offensive showcase continued for the Sharks, scoring multiple runs in the second, third, and fourth innings. Nova stretched their lead to 21-2 and stayed in control for the rest of the game.
PBA would have some positive plays to take away from this game. The 'Fish were able to get a run across in the seventh inning after the Nova bullpen loaded the bases, and they would get three runs in the eighth inning off of two RBI singles from
Jeremy Texel and
Matty Warren.
The Sailfish will look to move forward from this game and get two wins against the Sharks on Apr. 15 in a doubleheader matchup.
