Women's Track Runs at Tampa Distance Challenge

TAMPA, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic women's track team returned to Tampa on Friday night for the Tampa Distance Challenge.

The first event PBA competed in was the 1500m race. Allison Seng finished 11th with a time of 5:03.64. Sadie Nordmeyer was right behind Seng, placed 12th while running a personal best 5:03.94. Gwendelyn Shamel placed 16th (5:08.29) while Kathleen Boshka (5:12.35) placed 20th, and Faith Kulis finished 29th (6:30.38).

Shamel, Boshka, and Nordmeyer competed again in the 800m race. Shamel ran the best time for PBA, finishing 19th (2:32.47). Boshka placed 22nd (2:34.29) while Nordmeyer followed in 23rd (2:34.50). Nordmeyer set a new personal record in the event.

Dune Costes was the top finisher in the 5k for the Sailfish. She finished 16th with the fifth-fastest time in school history and a new personal record. Emma Baron placed 37th (19:16.44), and Christin Sustar finished 48th (19:47.88). 

PBA competes against on Tuesday, March 15, at the Ansin Track and Field Invitational in Miramar, Fla.
