MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic's baseball team took on the #11 ranked NAIA team St. Thomas University earlier this evening. The Sailfish had a tough time generating offense in the game, losing 14-3.
PBA started out the game with a bang in the first inning.
Jiovel Lantigua slammed a solo home run with two outs to score the first run of the game. The Bobcats would respond in the bottom half, scoring four runs off of a couple of singles and a Sailfish error.
The 'Fish would get another run in the top of the fourth from a
Nate Housen RBI singled to right field, but the Bobcats erupted in the bottom half of the inning. They got two RBI singles to begin their run, followed up by a three-run home run from INF Jack Khawly. St. Thomas would get another home run with two outs to make the score 12-2.
The Sailfish would get their final run of the game off of a solo home run from
Dylan Tosto. PBA had a rough go of things in this game, totaling only five hits on the game and never seemed to get anything going in the later innings.
The 'Fish have a quick turnaround as they travel back down to Miami to take on SSC opponent Barry on Apr. 1.
