Sailfish beat MSSU 3-0

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Palm Beach Atlantic baseball team played their first of a three-game home stand against the Lions of Missouri Southern State University. The Sailfish stayed in control throughout the game, winning 3-0.

The Sailfish struggled early on due to some solid pitching from the Lions, leaving a few runners on base in the first two innings. In the third inning, Sean Houck continued his hot streak with a double down the left field line and Dylan Tosto singled to right field to bring Houck in to score. Tosto would add to his solid night in the seventh inning with another RBI single up the middle. Nate Housen, who doubled earlier in the inning, came around to score. A costly balk by the Lions brought in the final run for the Sailfish, giving them a 3-0 lead heading into the late innings.

Nick Adams got the call to start for the Sailfish and prevented the Lions from getting anything going. He would finish his night with 5.2 innings pitched, three hits, three walks, and four strikeouts. Chris Seymour was dominant in his save effort for the Sailfish, pitching 3.1 innings and fanning five MSSU batters.

PBA will play again on Feb. 12 when they host West Georgia at J.M. "Jake" Rubin park.
