MIRAMAR, Fla. – Palm Beach Atlantic women's track took to the hot track at Ansin Sports Complex on Saturday, turning in strong performances in the 1500 meters and 800 meters races.
Abigail Bateman turned in another impressive performance on Saturday in the 1500, with a 4:52.27 time to best the field of 28 runners. The 'Fish had 10 of the top 13 in the race with four more in the top-5 with Bateman.
Dune Costes turned in a sub-five minute time, clocking in at 4:56.22 to finish 3rd in the race. Hannah Caldwell (5:02.86) and Allison Seng (5:03.32) were just behind. Emma Baron placed 7th (5:11.73) with Katie Kanagy (5:12.35) and Christin Sustar (5:13.38) also in the top-10. Emily Powers, Hanna Brook Gibbons and Kathleen Boshka also competed in the race along with Abigail Reburn and Faith Kulis.
Costes followed up her strong finish in the 1500 with a 2nd place finish in the 800, turning in a time of 2:24.49. Bateman (2:30.35) and Baron (2:31.75) were 4th and 5th in the race while Boskha (2:34.25), Caldwell (2:36.38) and Kanagy (2:36.47) also in the top-10.
The 'Fish also took part in the 4x400 relay with three teams in the race. The "A" team clocked in with a time of 4:28.58. Kaelyn Lakey also raced in the 400 meter dash, finishing with a time of 1:07.38.
